Activesync 4.2 not working on XPS laptop

hey all, i just got the xps laptop and have installed activesync 4.2 to connect to my Moto Q. Activesync installed properly but will not connect to my device. I can connect the device on another machine just fine but here it just doesnt seem to work. The connection is through USB.

I had a similar problem on an older setup with a H/Paq 3900. For no (obvious) good reason, I could connect using one machine - but using another (both Dell), I would fail to connect or corrupt files when I did. I just gave up on the problem machine.

... docking stations and hubs may not work - only connect directly
... firewalls or network monitors/optimizers may interfere, as ActiveSync might be using the TCP stack.
... check that nothing else on this machine is using your needed ports (netstat.. check ports in MS article)

and other stuff + a beta 4.5 you might want to play with.
