You may be able to rid yourself of one of them by right clicking on Start. Select Properties; Start Menu tab; Customize button. Advanced tab. Scroll down to where you see My Documents and then select "Don't Display This Item". Click OK.

Many thanks for the response. This only seems to redefine the Start Menu itself unfortunately - but thanks for coincidentally making me aware of accessing this facility!
