C++ Runtime Error- PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error everytime I try to access my "My Pictures" folder in the Administrator Folder for Windows XP.  It says the error is with the WINDOWS\Exploror.exe file.  So, I can't access my pictures.  I can't even access them through another program.  Using Photoshop, I try to open a picture from that folder, and I get the same error, only now with the \Photoshop.exe file.   I've tried spyware elimination, rebooting from disk, changing config options, everything the techs told me to do.  No dice.  What's going on and how do I fix it??  I need help ASAP, I'm moving in two days.  Do I have to take it in to a shop to get fixed??  PLEASE HELP!!

Maybe...right click on the drive icon, properties, tools tab. Click check now. On the box that opens, check both boxes (if you don't want to scan for bad sectors, you can leave the second box unchecked), click OK. The message tells you it can't do it now, do you want it to do on restart?, click yes
