cannot install java no matter what i try here

Question

Hello new here Iam trying to install java on vista prem and now each and every time i try it either on line or offline it does not install period and this is really getting to me here as i need it to reinstall the webos on my palm pre cell but no luck i keep getting this message when i try to install java  the feature you are trying to use is on a cd-Rom or other removable disk that is not available' Insert the disk and click ok now who knows what cd or dvd they are asking for i have tried every site you can think of and it will start downloading and then ask me for a cd-rom?? then nothing and when i close it it gives me this error 1714 the older version of java 7 update 60 cannot be removed contact your tech group ?? and it doesn't matter like i say what i do it will not install and i dont even have any updates on here whatsoever i have looked again and again and have even tried creating a user account with admin privileges and still nothing anything would help here right now thanks ~Dave I will be here for awhile if anybody can help me thanks again.

I recommend you to install the Microsoft Installer updates.

Follow the link for a list of Microsoft Installer updates. Download and install each version and then try installing Java:
