Cannot Open Dell Media Experience or Dell Net Work Guide

I was wondering if some one could me why,I am unable to open Dell Media Experience and Dell Net Work Guide Programs. I have windows xp pro. system. I have McAfee virus Software Running and has not detected any virus, but I call Dell Support and they told me,that I do have a virus, because of this message ( Application has Generated an Exception that could not be Handled). Is there a fix for this. This is an add on. I have notice in the( All program),that I have two Dell Media Experience programs. one with a no.2 on the end.
Dell must of upgrade it. I still cannot open that one either.

Garyflossie,

Download, install, update and scan with Spybot Search and Destroy, available here:
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=pop
Once updated. Immunize your system with Spybot.

Download, install, update and scan with Microsoft Antispyware Beta, available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=321cd7a2-6a57-4c57-a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en

Download, install, update and scan with Spyware Doctor, available here:

Download, install, and scan registry with Abexo Free Registry Cleaner 1.0, available here.
http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tag=srch&qt=abexo&tg=dl-2001
Create Registry backup first. Then run scan of registry. Delete all items found.

Download, install, update and scan with Bazooka Adware & Spyware Scanner, available here:
http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?qt=bazooka&tg=dl-20

Bazooka doesn't automatically fix anything. It only tells you if your system is clean or not and what to do about it.

Please let me know if you find anything.  I suspect you have a problem similar to a Packard-Bell Windows 95 system I worked on about 10 years ago.  Very frustrating for all parties involved.

Hi, tony. I tried the fixes, that you sent and other spyware and virus removal programs. Nothing seem to help. Dell support knows what the problem is , because they have fix this issue for others. I just do not want to pay $100.00 Bucks for a one time fix. If anyone has more suggestios I would like to hear from you.

Garyflossie,

Spend that $100 on presents next week.  I WILL find the answer.

Tony

Oh, the Packard-Bell thing I mentionned. Was a "bug" in the original System CD put there by a disgruntled employee prior to his departure.  Get my drift? Very honest tech told me to enjoy the shiny Frisbee while waiting for the new System CD.
