Clipboard Missing
Hello Everyone,
Its been a long while since I was on here but I know that if It can be fixed the answer is here. My sisters computer has no copy and paste function.I suspect she had a virus or something. This is what I am trying. I am trying to copy the picture to a jump drive. When I copy and paste it all that happens is a empty folder that became a shortcut. on the jump drive. I try all the different ways that u copy and no luck. This is Windows 7 operating system that has the problems. It looks like the clipboard is missing. Can somebody help please? Thanks

Did you have this problem since you installed windows on her laptop? Or it happened recently?

The link that bestis1980 posted has nothing to do with this issue. Perhaps it is spam?
Here are a few options to try in order to troubleshoot the Clipboard issue:
* Check the following:
Tools>Options>Advanced>Security>Custom Level and under miscellaneous see that "Drag and drop or copy and paste" is checked Enable.
* See if c/p works in Safemode. If that is the case there may be a recently installed program interfering.
*Try using System Restore to go to a date when it was working.
* Log in as administrator and run CMD (Command Prompt). You will find it in the Accessories folder. Run it and type sfc /scannow. After typing the command press Enter.
The command prompt will scan your computer and if prompted for windows disc then provide it. It will replace and repair any damaged or corrupted files.
* If she had a virus, that may have affected her Clipboard as well. Are you sure the system is still not infected? In that case, there may be some registry permissions that need to be changed. If you need help with registry editing, I suggest posting at SpywareHammer so someone can walk you (or her) through that.
