Boot into Safe Mode. To do this, restart your computer and press F8 repeatedly during the startup process. This will open the Advanced Boot Options menu. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.
Once you are logged into Safe Mode, open the Control Panel.
Click on User Accounts.
Click on Manage User Accounts.
Click on the user account that you are having problems with.
Click on Change Password.
Enter a new password for the user account and click on OK.
Restart your computer and try logging into the user account with the new password.
I've given Step 1 a shot, but it seems like my laptop is having some trouble getting into safe mode. Instead, I keep getting this little pop-up from "Dell Security Manager" asking for the administrator password, which I've unfortunately forgotten. Any advice on what to do next? Thanks!
