Computer not sleeping when lid closed
I have a Dell Inspiron 7706 2n1, with Windows 10 Home.
My appears to be constantly draining power, enough power that it is always hot, even when it is not doing anything.
Putting the computer to sleep (either by leaving it for a while, or by closing the lid) doesn't work, when I come back, it is still super hot (and also the battery is significantly drained if not dead). The problem is many times worse if I put it in a bag, since it heats up in the bag.
This is my power and sleep screen:

Hi, is there anyone at Dell or otherwise with experience of how to fix this issue and are able to furnish a response to the above query?
I have exactly the same issue with a Dell XPS 13 and an Inspiron 15, both i7's on Windows 10 Pro and under 2 years old.
Our symptoms are exactly the same as the original poster, its beyond irritating for the money spent of these laptops ££££££££

Hi HP HelpMeDell,
It turns out that modern Dell computers CANNOT SLEEP (not the technical definition anyways; what dell calls "sleep" doesn't actually turn anything off)
Solution is to change everything to "hibernate". Basically you have to go into the Advanced power settings, and set it so that after 15 minutes (or however long) your computer hibernates (instead of sleeping).

Open CMD as admin
powercfg /setdcvalueindex scheme_current sub_none F15576E8-98B7-4186-B944-EAFA664402D9 0
powercfg /setacvalueindex scheme_current sub_none F15576E8-98B7-4186-B944-EAFA664402D9 0
Now in order to validate commands ran properly
Powercfg -a
Output of the command should say Network Disconnectedv
