Don't want to reinstall or even use backup images that I have. Dont want to use system restore. Anyone know of software or other utlities to
repair (not clean) registry?
Thanks. SFC is a whole new thread for me. I have never been able to get it to work. It wants CD which Dell does not provide. And I have configured SFC to look into C\I386 but it never finds the files it needs. Its been useless. I'll give it anohter try nonetheless.
While Im at it, if anyone knows a workaround for SFC without CD then please let me know. Perhaps this is SP2 and/or Dell issue
Thanks jmwills. I did call Dell about this and they are sending disks. They recommended a repair install. But from what I understand, that will not fix a corrupt registry. Will either SFC or repair install fix my registry?
Dont want
clean install...this is what I am avoiding at all costs. They recommended a
repair install. I am under the impression that this repair will not fix corrupt registry.
