Usually the day and date appear below the clock in the system tray (right end of the taskbar) when you make the task bar taller by dragging its edge upwards. They disappear again if you make the taskbar single height by dragging its upper edge downwards. Is that what you mean? (if you can't reduce the height of the taskbar, right click on it and if there is a checkmark next to lock the task bar, click on that to unlock it)
Thank you for your response. I tried what you said but I still can't reduce the height of my task bar. It is not locked either. It will reduce but is completely gone -- only other option is full with the date, time, and day (no inbetween). It is like there is a set height or something like this when it is view.
Maybe some of the toolbars on the taskbar are positioned below one another instead of along side each other in the task bar. If so, you can try to move them into one line, but that is a bit fiddly. I would suggest that you try, right click on taskbar, click on toolbars, uncheck all the ones that are checked. Close most or all apps. This will give you a basically empty taskbar (except for the system tray on the right);; try reducing the taskbar again. Then, if that works, put back the toolbars you want (e.g quick launch, language or whatever you may be using).
You could also try right click task bar, click properties. Uncheck show system clock, click apply. Then try to reduce the taskbar height to a single line; if that works then go back and check show clock, click apply.
I don't know of any key combination (or any way) in which you might have 'locked' the clock to show date as well as time, I found nothing in the help file either.
