Dell Reinstall using Windows 7 OPK

Good afternoon,

I need to reinstall a system that has been corrupted by a virus.... I have tried system restore pointsand system repair options to no avail.

The customer has not made a system repair or image, what i'd like to know is, is it possible to reinstall using Windows 7 OPK and use the Dell Product Key?

Any advice would be greatfully received.

Most newer Dell's have a recovery partiton that will allow restoring the PC to the original factory condition.  Vista and Windows 7 systems are F8 at POST.

Dell supplied Operating System discs are pre-activated and usually do not require entering the Product Key, but the key can only be used with a Dell OEM disc that is the same OS version.

The user, if in the US, can request a set of discs from Dell  HERE

Manual Reinstall for Dell's   There is a specific install sequence for a successful install (including Dell sound drivers for most IDT/RealTek audio systems as non-Dell drivers will either not work or not work correctly).
