Same here ... WXP SP2 upgrade today and the DELL Solution no longer works. Using DELL Dim. 4300. I'll keep on eye on this post as I would like to know the fix. Regards, Roger.

I just checked it on my system and it is still functional. Don't know if this may be a factor but I installed the full 266MB IT professional SP2 update, not the smaller Windows Update version.

Scoobydooby,

When you said "Dell Solution Center" I thought you meant the Dell portion of the XP Help and Support applet accessed via Start/Help and Support. After rechecking I then saw the "Dell Solution Center" button in the top toolbar. It will open when I click on it, but then clicking on any of the five topics listed produces a "page can't be displayed". Is this the problem you've posted about?

I also installed SP2 from the full 266MB IT professional download.

So this is not a factor in Dell Solution Center no longer working.

VCraig,

"Is this the problem you've posted about?"

Yes, the problem is exactly as you described it.

Before I delete Dell Solution Center,  I hope we could get an official answer from Dell in this forum that there will not be a fix.

I received the SP-2 disk in the mail a few days ago, reformated and re-installed windows, and my Dell Solution Center is doing just fine....Any thoughts guys ?

I have the same problem with Dell Solution Center on my 3 Dell PCs after installing SP2. I expect Dell to reply to this and give us a fix for this useful tool.

Optiplex GX240 XP Pro
Inspiron 1100 XP
Optiplex GX260 XP
All SP2
All hard wired together thru Ethernet Router; Cable modem connected, RR
Norton internet security
Tried with XP firewall on and off and with I/S disabled. Still failed.

Netscape 7.2

Unhappy45....

I didn't do a reformat and OS reinstall before installing the SP2. How about the other posters here with the problem - was a clean reinstall done prior to the SP2 install?

Help and Support Center works but...

DSC loads but all the links are dead

Same here....can't find any mention of DSC on my CD's either. But, as you, so far this is the only program I've come across that isn't working. To tell the truth it's really not an issue for me. I don't ever recall clicking the DSC option on the tool bar (for one thing I never noticed it there....) as I've been able to (and still can) access pretty much the same info via the Dell Help and Support online options/links.

No, I did not do a clean reinstall.

The only program not working since SP2, as far as I can tell, is Dell Solution Center.

What I don't understand, if unhappy45 did a clean reinstall,  from where did he get the Dell Solution Center software - I can't find it on any of my cd's.

I did not do a clean reinstall. Just did the normal SP2 install on top of existing systems. Dell support is trying to help me. I've had a MS knowledge base article suggested (884488) and an Internet Explorer related article (TT1069922). Neither worked and I'm using Netscape in any case. I'll wait and watch at this point. Dell seems to be trying.
