Direct X missing system.dll but it was there?

I got a problem when i shut down my PC direct x was missing system.dll.
I have dell dimension 3100
windows xp sp2
It saids reinstall direct x how do i do that.
Recently installed Gametap the removed it, installed Microsoft Silverlight ?
HELP.
