DLG.exe error on start up.

Question

I am getting a error upon starting up my pc relating to DLG.exe.  I have worked out it is a digital line detector and that it is not needed.  How to I got rid of it or stop it starting up.    Sorry it is such a basic question but I have search all over even download and paid for usless software that has not help.   Thank you for your help.   Susi.

You should be able to remove it from the STARTUP tab of MSCONFIG:

When you do so, you'll get a message on reboot that you're running a "selective" or "conditional" startup ---- or something to that effect (I forget the exact wording) --- just click on "Don't tell me again".

Personally, I would suggest you download an enhanced startup manager, like WinPatrol, and DISABLE (rather than REMOVE) the DLG--- which will easily allow you re-ENABLE it, if you change your mind in the future:

That software is intalled by Dell (and maybe others) and is included with all Connexant V.92 and Broadcom modems. You might want to keep this file...read This to decide.
