Drivers for Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE)
I received this message which appears to be a reply to this prior post of mine . However that message is nowhere to be found when I view the post now.
I need drivers for WinPE in order to access the main storage device for a new Dell laptop that I recently acquired. However, on the Dell website, which at best is very confusing, I've only been able to find drivers by first identifying a specific device (i.e. my new Dell 15 DC15250 laptop) but the whole idea of WinPE is that it is portable and intended to be used on lots of different devices. There are no drivers listed for my device that are even in the expected format which would be a .zip archive. However the referenced message indicates that Dell does supply such drivers. I'm thinking this means they are not necessarily specific to a particular computer model but rather to components that are used in a variety of products. In this case I'm being told I need the Intel VMD / IRST Pre-OS Driver. That poses a basic question, "how is it to be found?".

IRST driver for Dell 15 DC15250 can be downloaded from here https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=kww8m&oscode=w2021&productcode=dell-dc15250-laptop
Double click to run but select extract files to be used later.

Yes, I did end up choosing that driver and did run the extraction. Then following advice from referenced message discovered the "drvload" command. As a result, I was able to load the driver and my image capture is running now. However, it appears as though in this context load means the driver gets added to the just booted virtual drive (referred to as the X: drive) but is not installed on the WinPE drive in a manner that it gets loaded when WinPE is subsequently booted. This has the affect of making it necessary to run "drvload" ever time WinPE is booted on this computer.
I would like to be able to install the driver on the thumb drive such that it gets loaded whenever WinPE is booted. Is that possible? If so I could use some help figuring out how to do it.
