You can get Windows Media Player 10 (not the WMP 11 beta) from here (free) and it works well:

andyr:

    I believe the programs you are referring to are available from Dell but you will have to call e-mail or chat to obtain them (They should be free of charge)

 Explain your situation and the Dell
representative will issue whatever CDs (Dell Media Experience, Power
DVD, Sonic MyDVD, Windows operating system) you might need.

CHAT with Dell

* EMAIL Dell

* Call Dell 1-800-624-9896

Thanks. What a fantastic service is that 'chat with Dell'

I tried it yesterday and chatted to a very polite and helpful technician (Anand Kamath) and he is going to post out the programs on CD to me free of charge. You cant better that.

Its the first time I have used that chat service and I found it very good. I got through to the representative quickly and the whole process from start to finish was just over 5 minutes.

Many thanks to all who replied on here.

Andy.
