Edge keeps popping up
Edge pops up anytime the computer wakes up or reboots. I have turned off every startup option that I can find. My default browser is chrome. Dell support had no idea, AI has no idea, nobody seems to know how to stop it from happening. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
AB

If Windows was freshly installed Edge would not pop up. Try download chrome install.exe on a USB drive then do a clean Windows install. Do not click edge ever. Run chrome install exe

Hi
I run Tiny11.
You cannot install stock Windows 11 with no Edge bits at all, but you can either:
use a trimmed image (Tiny11 or Tiny11Builder) that simply never installs Edge, or
install normal Windows 11, then cleanly remove or effectively neuter Edge and install another browser without ever opening it.
Use Tiny11 / Tiny11Builder
This is the cleanest way if you are happy with an unofficial, debloated build.
Tiny11 variants of Windows 11 are built specifically with Edge and a lot of inbox apps removed, so the system comes up with no Edge installed.
You can build your own “Tiny11” ISO from a genuine Microsoft ISO using Tiny11Builder, then install from that USB like a normal Windows setup.
NB: It does not stop MS continually trying to run EdgE rather than something better like DuckDuckGo.

@anne_droid I am sorry if I was not clear. This is on a brand new Dell computer that came with Windows already installed. I am stuck with their preinstalled windows. And of course, Dell claims no responsibility for software even though they provide it installed in this manner. I would hope that there is a way to stop edge from opening every time the computer lights off.

Hi
Well I put my own version on, and this is being typed under Linux Mint.
IF I wanted to stop edge I would ......
use https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
perhaps and try to resolve the issues.
