Error 1068 on Windows XP

Hi,

I have encountered a problem with "Services" in administrative tools of control panel. I am using Windows XP Media Center Edition and the thing is I have disabled some components in "Services", including Remote Procedure Call, Reomte Procedure Call Locator, Remote Access Connection Manager, Remote Registry, etc. After I restarted my computer, I can't even use simple "copy & paste" function. I also tried to change the "properties" of those services back to automatic or manual, but they simply wouldn't let me. I think I have messed up with the registry or something. Does anyone know how to restore "Services" in administrative tools to its default setting?

Tim

Have you tried the System Restore function to undo any software changes?

yesh. I have tried system restore in accessories under start menu. It didn't work. Is there any other way to restore back to default setting? I have thought about reinstalling the whole Windows XP system, but I would like to leave it as the last resort.

You can try to undo your changes in safe mode, and go into adminstrative tools!

Actually I have tried to undo the change in safe mode. But the problem is, in administrative tools, when I tried to right click to go to "properties". It didn't show up another window at all, which means I can't change anything. any suggestions?
