Hi ldudette,
As you mentioned you have been on Microsoft Forum for the all day and have tried several fixes but the problem still exists, have you tried any other forums? If not, please try the fix provided in the below mentioned link:
Fix Error 1720 - Windows

Ran the registry repair and did all the fixes, still get error 1720 when try to do an install.Thanks anyway

Fix it did nothing, when I try to install the update I get error mssg about cannot extract without elevation.
FYI, also running windows vista and 32 bit if that gives you more info.

Are you logged in into your Windows Vista machine as an Administrator? If not, please login using and Administrator Account and check if this helps.

Are you logged in into your Windows Vista machine as an Administrator? If not, please login using and Administrator Account and check if this helps.
