error message: desktop window manager stopped working
Hello
I got an inspiron 530s with Vista a month or so ago and every time I start it I get a message saying
desktop window manager stopped working and was closed
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available.
I left it since I figured windows would notify me when a solution was available, but recently when I start up I have started getting a black screen after I enter my password. This is only intermittent, and can be solved by doing ctl-alt-delete, and cancelling the menu that appears. I'm a bit worried it's all symptomatic of a serious problem though. I googled the error message and didn't get any results. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Sarah

The stopping of the Windows Manager is a very common Vista glitch (the error formerly known as "bug" ). It seems to be annoying but not fatal.
The black screen on login is one I have not heard of.
