Future critical updates?

Will future crit updates require SP2 to be installed, or will some still apply to SP1? Will they be marked as needing SP2?

How necessary are all these crit/security updates with norton firewall in place?

I think that after April 12, you will have to have SP2 for future updates. This is the date the program to stop automatic update for the SP2 ends.

Seems like I read somewhere you will have to have SP1 or later to receive updates....

It states on the Windows Update home page that you will have to have SP1 installed for future updates.
