I need help!

I bought a dimension e310 for my daughter. I got it used from a friend and it was loaded down with viruses, he took it to Best buy and they said it would be about 300 dollars to fix it. We didnt want anything of his on there anyway so i sent to Dell for a reinstallation DVD. It got here the next day and we used it on the computer. It got rid of all the viruses, but the down side is that the computer doesnt read the sound card or the network card. I have this computer that I can get access to the internet with and was wondering if someone could tell me how to download what i need and transfer it to the other computer so I can get it on the internet to get all the updates that I need. Thanks for the help!

Drivers from here
Save them on a flas memory (USB) or burning them on a CD.

Dell computer has a PCRestore, that sets the computer to its factory settings. It takes like 15 minutes, and all the things pre-loaded will be there.

Thanks for the help so far! I got the driver for the network card loaded and I am using her computer now, but I am having trouble finding the restore that you were talking about. Is it under the drivers?

If you reformatted the hard drive, you deleted the PC Restore partition and it's no longer available. It would have reset the hard drive to exactly the way Dell shipped it.

The correct installation order is:
XP
Desktop System Software (DSS)
Chipset driver
Video driver
audio driver
network driver
etc.

If you didn't install DSS and chipset driver, a lot of tne hardware won't work correctly, even after you install their drivers.

Once you get all the hardware working correctly, don't forget that you have to go to the Microsoft update site and download the updates for XP, IE, etc, etc, ASAP.

Sorry I didn't explained myself. Some Dell Computers has a recovery Utillity, this Utillity restores the computer to its factory settings, so it install Windows, Drivers with all the software was listed on the computer. This, instead of using the the Windows disc.

It is not a driver you need to install, it is just an utillity do all the process quickly. Now you already installed Windows, it is usesless, but for next time, you're aware that the partition is there (if you didn't removed when installing Windows)
