Internet Explorer stops responding

After spending many hours on the phone with Dell support I have chosen to go a different way. Please any one who can help me I am very appreciative to any suggestions.I have had my dell dimension  2400 for one week now. We have done numerous system restores and even uninstalling and reinstalling windows xp. I have downloaded all of the windows updates.the problem accurs when i open Internet Explorer I can get to my home page and to just about any site but when i go to yahoo or other site and try to play a game i go to games and play after i have to reload the applet several times to load the text. When I am done with that site i close the windows but they are still running in my task bar and will not close or reopen. I have to ctrl+alt+delete to get them to close and a screen pops up saying to end non responsive program.

when i generate the error report it states as follows:

szAppName:iexplore.exe szAppVer:6.0.2800.1106 szModName:hungapp szModver:0.0.0.0 offset:00000000

following files included in report:

c:\Docume~1\Jamie\locals~1\Temp\WER30.tmp.dir00\iexplre.exemdmp

C:\Docume~1\Jamie\locals~1\Temp\WER30.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

and i need help with Java when i try to open an applet ...screen says done and nothing is displayed i have to click reload applet to get it to do any thing.

and when i run my cursor over programs in my task bar the info boxes that pops up are blinking you cant read what they say .

please anyone who can help..I am new at computers         Thanks so much

    Hi:

Sounds like you might be re-infecting your system
with malware at some of those game sites. Assuming
you have run antivirus scans (with up-to-date virus definitions)
which come up negative, then you should download Adaware
and/or Spybot Search&Destroy to clean out the malware.

Instructions and download links are here.

If that does not work Send It Back to Dell. "I have had my dell dimension 2400 for one week now." Dell Support has had their chance to fix what appears to be a broken PC. Call them for a return. Good luck.

Thanks for responding i download the stuff mentioned and it did not help .Think I will take the advice and send it back to dell before the warranty expires.I agree that Dell built this pc and should now how to repair it or send someone out to fix it and they refused to sent a person out to look at it guess i will go back to hp for a desk top pc.I didnt have this problem with HP.

    Thanks again .....sultry
