Invalid Drive message when installing or uninstalling programs

Question

I get a message that says 'Invalid drive:E;\' when i try to install or uninstall programs. This is a new error message.  I have a Latitiude d600 with XP pro.  Thanks in advance Tony

Sounds like the system (the one that contains the OS installation) drive letter got changed some how.   Open windows explorer  Flag + E, is the system drive C? or did it get changed to E? Post back.   http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/3300 Read this on the subject. Typo on the header of this web page, it should read Tip #3300 - Invalid Drive Error: 1327   not driver.

Error 1327. Invalid Drive: E:\     I found the fix to this in the registry paths: Start - Run - Regedit   HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\ Shell Folders(and User SHell Folders)\Personal   Looked for the vlues that had E: and changed it to C:   Thanks for everyone's help!
