I have 3 systems running Vista, an XPS 600, 8400, & I6400, runs like a champ on all three.

I really like a lot of the tools like PERFORMANCE Monitor (It rocks)  Disk Management is more user friendly & powerful.  Above all, the help files are really helpful!

You are a Gamer. What differance in game play have you noticed with Vista, There are some post's  suggesting  that Vista is slower than XP. Have you seen any loss or gain in game performance. Please list the games you are running as that would help some of us get an idea of what to look forward to. And would give us a base line, thing's can only inprove as the O.S. matures. Thank You. The slowdown holdup is with Nvidia's beta 100.59 drivers. They are not optimized for gaming and 3d applications.

Well so far i have bf2, bf2142, Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries, HL2 and HL2 Ep 1, Vanguard Saga of hero's. As was stated the nvidia drivers seem sluggish at the moment. So i have seen some loss of frame rates, 10  to 15 fps on some games. But since most of the games i was getting 70 to 100 fps with settings on med to high the loss isnt that bad. If you are only getting 30 to 50 fps in xp then the hit will be much more noticeable. When i installed Vanguard it wouldnt launch at first, it read that it was missing a dx9 dll file, so i went and downloaded the file off the MS web site and installed it in the windows system folder. After that the game finally launched. HL2 gave me a few fits about running since the steam app didnt like vista, but the internet has some good info on a workaround. My SB audigy se card doesnt have good support yet, i can only download a beta driver at the moment. There is no control panel like the xp version so my mic boost isnt enabled, makes it tough for people to hear me on Teamspeak. But all in all for a OS thats only a few weeks out on the market its got my vote. Hopefully all these hardware venders will get with the program and start getting drivers that will take full advantage of vista. Once that happens i see vista being a very fast and stable OS.
