Log Off - Switch User - Lock Computer

Question

I used to always use winkey-L to go to the switch user screen, so anyone could use the computer but my programs would remain open. But now I hit winkey-L and it locks the computer, no good. Now if someone else wants to use it all of my programs will be closed. Clciking start>log off>switch user doesn't even work anymore. What can I do?

well i have figured ou i need to use 'Quick User Switching' but when I check the box and leave the screen and come back it is un-checked. It just won't stay checked!

I am having the same problem, but when i enable fast user switching and click apply, it still doesnt work. help plz!!
