Need Help!!!

Hi

Everytime I start up my computer this message (below) pops up and I cannot seem to click on any buttons as it comes on for like 2 secs and goes.

My computer seems to be working fine and I wanted to know why does this appear and how can I make it go away?

I am using Vista Ultimate.

Thanks in advance!!!

Look at the Event Viewer to get more info on the error message. Start> Administrative Tools> Event Viewer.

It looks like a malware. Windows Defender in Vista is not completely capable of preventing
malwares, Configure your security options to enable pop-up blocker. In the search box of www.microsoft.com , after selecting Windows Vista Solution Center, type "Configure Security Settings". Windows Vista has its October 2007 Security Updates to improve capability to
prevent viruses and spywares. Have you tried that ?

If it does not work, you have to set Security Settings to a stricter configuration. Enable Pop-up Blocker. Another way I discovered for purposes of identifying new malwares and eliminating
them is by using Search and Destroy of www.spybot.com  as Administrator of your own PC.

That was my thinking too; apparently the activex component is not registered. If he knew which dll was the offender (re-)registering it could solve the problem. Clicking on Details or Event Viewer may well give the answer. Uninstalling/reboot/ and installing the updated app (NF) sure couldn't hurt but it may be overkill.

I think Vista uses 3.x so the link would be this one:

There may be a Repair option re .NET Framework in Add|Remove; if not uninstall it reboot and then install the whole 3.0. I would first take a look at the Event Viewer to see what the error message actually pertains to.

Another thing to try is Start>Run>msconfig . Select diagnostics. After that is done,
get back to msconfig and select the option with minimum applications to run
windows. You can enable the other applications that get disabled in the process --
only when you need one or more.

If nothing works  to fix the problem, here's my next level solution.
Try "System Restore" on a date you know there was no such problem in the past.
Then enable your Pop-up Blocker + define your Security Settings.

But remember that whatever software installations you made past the restoration date
of your System Restore, will be lost.

If you don't have to back up a lot of data, System Restore is a good option.

Hi

I tried to re-install the programme and still no luck????

Seen as though there no problems with my computer I might as well leave it as it is and I may end up messing something else up instead?

Thanks for your help!!!

Understandable but something caused this problem apparently related to .NET Framework. My suggestions are to do an up-to-date virus check as well as running AdAware; update it first, as well. http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html After doing both I would test your System Restore (by setting a Restore point) to verify that it works; if it doesn't disable, reboot, and then re-enable. None of these procedures will hurt your machine but may definitely help. Post back for more info if needed.
