.Net framework

Somehow .Net framework was removed on my wife's XPS 400 running XP MCE 2005..............updates won't install from windows update site and I can't seem to figure out how to reinstall the .Net framework.......do I have to clear it out of registry first?

Try this first. Click Start, Administrative Tools, Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 Wizards, Fix an application. In the application list click on the .Net listed to highlight then click OK. There should be more than one listing, do one at a time. If Administrative Tools is not listed on your start menu this is how to enable it. Click start then right click an empty space on the start menu, you will see properties, click properties, on Start Menu tab click customize, on Advanced tab scroll down till System Administrative Tools, enable (Display on the All Programs Menu and the Start Menu), click OK, click apply, click OK. If .Net is not found on the application list or the Wizard fails insert your Operating System CD. On the first screen click Perform additional tasks. On the second screen click Install .Net Framework. If it installs (check Add +Remove Programs) go to Microsoft Updates and download .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.0
