Hi neil.m4,

You will not be able to perform a downgrade or an upgrade operating system from 32bit to 64bit or 64bit to 32bit. You will need to install the operating system from outside. Please follow the steps in the link below to manual reinstall the operating system on the computer.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi Ravi:

Thank you for getting back to me - it is much appreciated.
Unfortunately, when I tried to set the computer back to the factory setting - I found that there was no 'image' available for that process.
Also I am not sure whether I have the original installation disc or not - I have something called 'recovery media for Windows 8.1 products' with operating system written on it Japanese. Is that of any use?
To tell the truth, I just want to set the computer back to the original "Windows 7 Pro" operating system so that I can start over. Another alternative would be to install Windows 7 in English (any version). Do you have any ideas about what I should do?
