Pointer shadow
The computer I use at work uses Windows 2000. With it, I can enable a "shadow" for my mouse pointer. Is there a way to get a similar "shadow" for the pointer on my home PC that use Windows 98SE?

This mouse allows for "Cursor Trails" (see Motion) which, I suppose, could be considered "a shadow"....
It is a very VERY annoying feature--not only by it's self but also if coupled with the mouse's SPEED!
I would not want to wish ANY OF IT on anyone!
"Trails" are hard on a person's eyesight and a "slowed-down, extra-long mouse trail" is like waiting for Speedy Gonzales to kick into overdrive.
But...since you insisted. If you really want to drive yourself insane, then use these parameters:
Motion -- "no acceleration", speed "fast", and Trails enabled "Long"
Pointer -- Scheme "Medium Black by Logitech" and "Normal Select"
The result produces a black-arrow shadow. Ugh.
