how do i get/use foxmarks?

Not sure about the fat32 problem, but one way to avoid bookmark synch problems is to use Foxmarks. It saves all your bookmarks online automatically so your bookmarks are the same on every pc you use.

I had the same issue with a FAT32 250GB external drive. Just format to NTFS it by right clicking on the drive and selecting FORMAT.

if i format the drive does anything happen to all the data that's already on there? that's a scary thought as it's my backup for all sorts of stuff

Glad you asked...the format is distructive. You need to buy or borrow a different external drive.

does this mean that neither of my external hd's (both of which show the same message) can be used for easy transfer? both are wd branded drives....that seems crummy...

I'm not sure why FAT32 does not work because it should be able to handle the file size, but I had the same issue with the transfer.  The NTFS drive had no issues completing WET. Maybe you can combine 2 drives so that you use the other one as scratch drive.  FAT32 is only needed if you have a MAC to backup.

i'll see if i can get in touch with anyone at dell or ms on the issue, tough to get support as you probably know..
