Program installation with Vista!

I have recently purchased a Dell desktop with Vista.  I am having difficulties with most of my software... Office wants to configure everytime I open the program, and my antivirus gives me the following message:

THE APPLICATION FAILED TO INITIALIZE PROPERLY (0xc0150004).

I have tried using different user accounts and cleaned up the registry with ccleaner, reinstalled all the software, and rebooted the whole computer, and well as adding some new registry files for Office.  Nothing works - any other ideas would be most appreciated!  I don't really know where else to turn...

Thanks.

Wrong. My Dell Inspiron 1545 has never been on the internet. Fresh out of the box -- the same thing happens. I can't load simple propriatory software without a 0xc1500004 error message. After 1 week I've had no response from Dell with advice to solve the problem. How do I progress from here? How can a company with its reputation send out goods that don't function and do not provide solutions?
