Quick Launch Task Bar

I can't enable the Quicklaunch Task Bar. When I try, I get a message that says "Can't Create Toolbar",

Any suggestions?

Try or read this and see if it applies :

http://www.dougknox.com/

At that site » Win XP fixes and scroll to 'Cannot create........'

I tried that, it said that the Quick Launch Toolbar had already been created!  Maybe the problem is that I can't get it to display. Any suggestions?

This a trick that might work--Right click on the taskbar and make sure it's UNlocked. Then 'grab' the double dotted vertical line on the left side and move it to the right. The Quick Launch bar might be hidden under it.

Have you just started noticing this or has it always been that way. You could try a repair of Windows XP.

You can repair windows using the Windows XP installation CD instead of reloading Windows. This will not erase any of your files and you will only have to reset some of your settings is all. Worth a try I think. Try this Link.

Has been going on for a few months, but not from the outset. I had my computer consultant look at it, and he couldn't fix.

I am reluctant to reload Windows XP, since the problem is not all that great. I use the "links" as a bottom toolbar, and it works as well as the quick launch- just would like to get it fixed if it is possible.

Thanks for the suggestion! It is great how many people pay attention to these messages and respond.

Exute,

Try this. It offers a feature beyond the .vbs from Doug Knox that you tried at the start of this thread (and should work if the problem on your system surfaced after you ran a spyware cleaner).
