Quick time

Hi,
I need help removing quick time. I have deleted all I could find(files, folders, short cuts) from my machine but I get a pop up message that asks me if I want to download quick time. I also found loads of quick time stuff in the registry. Would like to rid myself of this program.
I have regcleaner, if that will help any. If I use regedit can I just delete all the quick time files one at a time?
Never worked in the registry before and am not experienced in this area.
The quick time files are in hkey_classes_root.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Creeper...

Go to QT's website and search for their manual removal instructions. I havn't been there in quite a while but when I did, the instructions were fairly hard to find.

If you can find them, print it out and follow methodically. QT is harder to remove than a virus.

Seing we're on the QT subject, my digital camera makes QT movies, so I need that. Would there be a way to convert them to mpeg? Thanks

Oh Boy!!! Not exactly the news I wanted to hear. This idiot program was installed behind my back with another program I got as a gift. There should be a contents menu on the disk's label!

    Thanks for you input.

I said that because when I went to remove it thru it's so called uninstaller ,it didn't have one. I clicked on "uninstall" and got a pop up telling me that it wasn't there or couldn't be found. I feel this is by design and whomever wrote the program wanted it to stay installed despite my desire to uninstall it. It's my machine and I should determine what's on it for whatever reason I choose. This ,to me, is very devious.
Now I keep getting a pop up that asks me if I want to install quicktime so while I'm working this pop up keeps getting in my way no matter how many times I click no. If I wanted quicktime I wouldn't remove it.

I have found QT also on the system. I believe my son may have downloaded it. I don't know much about it but was wondering why you say it's "an idiot program"??
Now I'm wondering if I should try to get rid of it? Could you post back if you find the Removal instructions? Thanks.

That is pretty devious. I was just curious if having QT on the system would cause any problems.
Have you tried Pop-Up Stopper? Nice to have if you want those pop=ups to stop. ZDNet has it in their downloads section.

    Spy_vs_Spy,

    I have spyblocker.
It's not that kind of a pop up.

    Creeper:

I know its a little late for this problem, but you might think about getting Norton Clean Sweep, I use it for my internet downloads, and for CD downloads. It monitors the download so when you go to uninstall the download, every bit of it is uninstalled. You don't need to use an uninstaller or add/remove. You can uninstall, from Clean Sweep, and it will make a back up copy just incase something goes wrong.
Clean Sweep will do a lot of other things too.
Just my 2 cents worth, hope this might help.
