Recent system folder
When I turn off my Dimension E310 PC using Windows XP Home Edition 2, I get the message: 'Recent is a Windows system folder and is required for Windows to run properly. It cannot be deleted.' This started after I made a probably over-energetic manual cleanup of files I thought I no longer needed. How can I prevent this message from recurring?

Yes, I get this message every time I shut down. My recycle bin has been emptied, shredded and the PC has been defragmented. But a folder exists named 'Recent' in the directory C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\Application Data\Microsoft\Office. Its creation date is when I installed Windows originally. Should there be another 'Recent' folder somewhere else? I have three folders named "My Recent Documents'.bobheerema

When I look into windows\system32\config\systemprofile\, I see the hidden folder 'My Recent Documents', but I do not see 'Recent'. However, when I tried to create a new file named 'Recent', I got a message that I could not create a file with that name because it already exists. I am still puzzled.
