Hi, I have just used the F8 to do a factory reinstall. However, i have vista Home Premium, and my desktop is showing Vista Basic. Also when I try to install my ATI software, im getting two error messages, and the software fails to install. The first error says,

Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.Impletmention, version+ 20. 3167, 36903, culture= neutral, PublickeyToken= 90ba9c70f8462e' or one of its dependencies. the system cannot find the fiole specified.

The other error message says,

Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Impletmention, version+ 20. 3167, 36903, culture= neutral, PublickeyToken= 90ba9c70f8462e' or one of its dependencies. the system cannot find the fiole specified.

any help thanks.

Hi, Finally got it sorted. What I had to do, was to take out my 4550 graphics card, and then install the graphics card that came with the system. Then I did another Factory Restore, after that I deleated the old ATI software, which included the driver, and then reinstalled the 4550 graphics card, and loaded the software. Just as well I kept my old graphics card.

did you install the netframework software from MS? ATI normally needs the .netframwork to install properly.

Not sure about the vista issue what does your reinstall disk say for version? This is the Dell info on Factory restore using Vista

Hi Dave50, MS did download the .net framework 3.5 with SP1. However, I did try to install the 2.0, but it wold not let me because I had the 3.5. So I booted into SAFE MODE, and tryed it that way, the ATI software said that the detection driver was not loaded, so it would not install. The good news I did get the driver on, by going through Device Manager. I did an repair on the Vista Home Premium and got that to work.

do not worry...

Robin won't be worried at all - given that he mentions he's already fixed the problem... in the post directly above yours :emotion-55:

But I doubt your driver-based "solution" would've worked anyway, since the 'fix' which worked, involved removing the new card, temporarily refitting the old card, uninstalling the ATI software, then fitting the new card again, before reinstalling the graphics drivers?
