Restoring a deleted program to the Startup function in 'All Programs'

Question

Hello. I am running Windows XP. When I click on the Start->All Programs, it naturally lists all the programs. Early on, I wanted Outlook to open automatically when I booted my computer, so I dragged an dropped the Outlook icon from Start->All Programs->Microsoft Office to Start->All Programs->Startup. This week I needed to remove Outlook from the Startup menu for a few days. Now I want to restore it, but it is gone from the Microsoft Office list within Start->All Programs, nor am I able to drag and drop the Outlook icon from, say, the desktop, or the Start menu itself back to either Startup or Microsoft Office, within 'All Programs.' I've searched and cannot find any information on how to do this. Is there a simple solution to this problem? Thanks in advance for any help provided. - Randy

Microsoft Outlook is located here: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\outlook.exe

Just create a new shortcut on your desktop, browse to the outlook.exe file, highlight it, click OK, click Finish. You can then copy that shortcut to your Startup folder.

Tony: Thanks for your help. I copied the shortcut to the Start menu, then dragged it into the Startup menu, and it appears to have worked. Many thanks again - Randy
