My intuitive response would be that if all is well, don't fix it 'til it's broke.  I should think that if there was a serious problem within the registry it would have surfaced.

The first obvious thing to do is to click on the "details" and see what the specifics say. Then I would run: Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter, ScanDisk (a thorough scan, not a standard one), and then Fred Langa's Cleanup.bat.

After Cleanup.bat was finished, I would run System File Checker and make note of everything altered, deleted, or corrupted. I probably would ignore everything, though, the first time through, and would proceed to my next step.

After System File Checker,...I would reboot my machine.

But before it proceeded beyond the Dell Logo screen, I would interrupt the process and would enter a MS-DOS command prompt to run Fred Langa's Clean All.bat program *.

Then: When I ran scanreg /fix, if I continued to receive the mention of errors and of deleting files, I might have a better understanding.

edit added: I probably should mention here too that somewhere in this process I would run through my Norton SystemWorks programs--WinDoctor and CleanSweep's "Registry Sweep".
