Sending internet packets...

Question

this is a wierd question but I dont know if its a problem or not. it just seems odd because it never used to do this...  I am connected to wireless internet and when my internet is not active, my computer is sending one packet every second.  the little blue computer connection thing in the task bar blinks steady every second and never stops.

Install a firewall and see what program is sending the data and what port it is utilizing.
