Shutdown problem

Hi

I got a problem when trying to restart or shutdown WinXP. Anytime I click the restart or shutdown button, there is a messagebox of "END PROGRAM - SAMPLE" saying that "If you choose to end program immediately you will lose any unsaved data."

I have tried to look in the task manager, looking for the applications or programs that may be running at the background...but it seems that all programs have been closed.

As I remember, this problem began after I installed Microsoft VB.NET. Then, I tried to restore the system before I installed the VB. And yeah...this problem's solved. But....this doesn't last for a long time. Now I still get the end program messagebox when restarting or shutting down windows.

Anyone could help me to solve this issue?

Here's the list of task manager in my computer that might you need:

iexplore.exe, csrss.exe, DirectCD.exe, explorer.exe, FrameworkService.exe, lsass.exe, McShield.exe, naPrdMgr.exe, pctspk.exe, PopUpKillerTray.exe, services,exe, shstat.exe, smss.exe, spoolsv.exe, strokeit.exe, svchost.ece, System, System Idle Process, UpdaterUI.exe, vsmon.exe, VsTskMgr.exe, winlogon.exe, zonealarm.exe, ZCfgSvc.exe

Thanks,

~shreve

You could try Search Advanced (1st 3 ticked) for      sample

Also show Hidden Files & Folder if not already set,
use "My Computer"    , Tools > Folder Options  , View tab  ,  Hidden Files & Folders check "Show hidden files & folders.

If you can't find the program causing message you could edit Registry by using Start , Run & type     regedit
then navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
AutoEndTasks    & set to 1

I assume that this problem happens because of ISS. At the time I installed VB.NET, I started ISS service. Then, I stopped the service from control panel-->administrative tools-->services. It has been stopped and there's no longer www service, inetinfo.exe appeared. But when I searched file and folders using the word "sample", it shows some ISS related stuff. I found out that in WINDOWS folders, there is some ISS things, such as ISS help. I do not understand how to completely remove ISS service. Does anyone knows how to do it?

I really appreciate any suggestions since I'm not expert in computer.

Thanks.
