software crashes
I've been using a program called Abander TagControl to edit MP3 tags and organize MP3's. It constantly crashes; sometimes I can't even open the program without it crashing, other times it crashes after a few minutes of editing MP3 tags. The following error occurs, Blue Screen, File Name VWIN32 (05) 000012D0 Error OE 0028 C02A44AB. The software provider has not run into these problems. I've tried turning off all unnecessary programs thru the sytem confiuration utility, turning off all Norton programs, disconecting DSL, resetting harware accelration, and reinstalled Win ME. Nothing seems to help. I've udated the graphics card, downloaded and installed every update from Microsoft and Dell. I am running Dell 4100, 512 SDRAM, nVidia TNT64 Video Card,Norton Anti virus, Norton Firewall. Please give any advice which might solve this problem.

Ok, your list seems pretty trimmed down. That's not it.
Do a Google search for:
VWIN32 000012D0
These are the relevant parameters. There seem to be a number of thid party programs that have a conflict with ME and IE. You may see something that looks like yours.

Thanks for the reply; I did a Google search prior to posting here, but used the full error message parameters, will try your suggestions, and post back.

I have been unable to come up with any answers to this problem. However, I e-mailed the software maker, and thay cnae up with an update that stopped that problem. Now if I could only get the program to work without having to uninstall and reinstall every time I use it, it would be so much better. But at least now, I can use the program without being interrupted.
Just got a new Optiplex w/XP Pro, and have not tried to install Abander TagControl on the new PC yet. Hoping the XP will do better than Win-Me, and I stop destroying hard drives, and stop having other problems.
