Sonic Activation Module

I just purchased the Dell Dimension XPS600 and after doing some software clean-up in add/remove I am now getting an error on cold boot "Sonic Activation Module" "please insert disk-1.

I tried browsing all the software I received with my system and can not find the file it is looking for. If I open task manager I can "End Task" and everything is fine, but I want to clean it up and cant find anything in either (MSConfig,Startup, Add/Remove or via registry search for SONIC)  It is driving me nuts and I dont want to run a full restore after taking a week to customize my box.

Does anyone know of a removal tool or reg cleaner that will fix this specific problem, or has anyone encountered the issue on a new Dell system?

try this.

Go to Start and Run.
Type in MSCONFIG
Go to the Startup Tab on the right.
Disable the following 2 items in the list. uncheck

ISUSPM
ISSCH

Click Apply and the Close - When prompted to do so Restart the System.

Then on restart, just check the System Config Utility box that says 'Don't show this again' and you're done.

Just wanted to say thanks - I have been trawling for weeks now to find the answer.  I spoke to Dell, who had decided it was time for me to completely restore my system, I am so glad I found this message, and it saved me loads of trouble.

Worked perfectly!

Thanks

I still cannot get mine to work.  I followed the instructions exactly and it keeps wanting me to insert the disk.  This is really frustrating!

The message is gone after I disabled those two drivers. However, when I start the application InstallShield v8, the message comes again.

I re-installed Corel Photo Center v6, which is included in the Dell package. The problem is gone. Actually, I don't want this software but it fixes my problem.

I can confirm that it is a uninstalling of Corel that cuases this problem. I did follow the advice by going into MSCONFIG and it solved the problem. ISn't there anything Dell ir Corel can sort out on this problem as seems to be common on most new computers, both my father and I have the problem. Considering that everytime you have a photo Corel presumes you want to purchase it's subscription, hence why so many people try to uninstall it - but then this pop-up occurs.

Just pure annoying!
