Sync clients time with server

I'm trying to setup all my clients to sync with the server at login, or force the server to update the clients at some scheduled time.

Read many posts, but not fully understanding this. Can anyone explain how to do this step by step?

I'm thinking about putting the atomic clock on the server, then putting something (not sure what) in the login script to make the machines sync when logging on. I've got to be close.

Thanks,

Here's a whole page full of good links about Win2K/XP time synchronization. If you're using DHCP, specifying the Time Server's IP address in the DHCP server configuration will deliver that information to all DHCP clients. Machines with a static (non-DHCP supplied) IP address will need to have the server specified as described in the article.

Thanks for the link. I seem to have gotten that far now though. Still having a problem though.

I have the .bat file calling out the server for the time officer on our network. When logging in as the

administrator on any machine it seems to work fine. However, when the users are logging in it doesn't

seem to work. Originally I was sure it was due to permissions to change the systems time, however, even

after changing that priviledge it doesn't work. Little stumped now. Not sure where to go from here. I need a

.bat file to run on the client machine as the administrator.

    Thanks

Nevermind. Rule Number One. When in doubt....re-boot.

Oddly, you have to reboot in order for it all to take effect. At least I seem

to here. Although one of my users still can't change the time manually on the client,

it's all working to my satisfaction now.

    Thanks,
