system32.sys missing or corrupt

Question

Hello im having this problem in windows xp sp2, i already tried to fixed with recovery console using the following commands........fixboot, fixmbr, chkdsk /r, etc..... i need help!! how can i copy the file system32.sys from the CD to my HDD?   I dont want to perform a clean installation of windows, please help!!   Regards

put the cd in and and boot to it and then pick the second repair. you get there by picking install and then R.

Don't forget that you'll have to reinstall all XP updates and hotfixes again, after the repair/reinstall. Ron
