Touchpad Icon

Hello,

I have a Dell D630. I'm trying tyo get rid off the dell touchpad icon in the taskbar.

I have untick the 'Display Icon in Task Bar' option in the Touchpad COnfiguration menu but everythime I reboot the icon is still being displayed in the taskbar despites that the option is untick.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Try this start>right click>properties>task bar tab>customize button>under the behavior column highlight  dell touchpad and in the drop down menu there are three options, hide when inactive, always hide, and always show.

That is just going to "hide" not to remove it.

It should work the procedure you follow, I did on My E1505.
Try this: after doing the uncheck process, immediately restart the computer, if the same happens, try to download the lates touchpad driver.

The option to remove an icon using the synaptics touch pad.

I would indeed prefer to remove it rather than hide it.

Did you downloaded the synaptics touchpad driver?

No - just the default Dell Touchpad drivers.
Where can I find these drivers?
Thanks

OK this is actually the version of the drivers that I'm already using.

Should I try to re-install them?

I have a Latitude D830. I'm having the exact same problem with this driver. I have also tried reinstalling the driver, but it did not fix the problem.

I'm having the same problem, downloaded the new version of Dell Quickset and the newest touchpad drivers; really annoying as heck.
