Trying to load M3u file format on XP Professional

Question

Dear all, I am trying to play M3u files on my MP3 player? i take it i am unable to do this as its  not an MP3 file format?   How can i convert the M3u file format into a MP3 file format? what is strange whilst downloadig it indicated that its  MP3 format, but when installe din WINDOWS XP its M3u.   Any ideas

M3U is a media queue format, also generally known as a playlist. It is the default playlist save format of WinAMP and most other media programs. It allows multiple files to be queued in a program in a specific format.

How can i convert it? i have hundrerds of downloads in M3u, how can i convert these to my MP3 player?

THey dont contain the MP3 files themselves..but more so a location of where these files are stored on your computer.
