What is the HD total capacity?

Anyway, if you want to save a few dollars you might consider one of the free AV utilities that are popular on the forums. I've listed them below.  Many people say Norton is a resource hog and that they see a noticeable speed increase when they switched. I use Avast.

That's the system RAM, not the hard drive capacity.  Anyway, I'm sure you have enough space to add Norton 2006 but consider what I said in my previous message.

Okay, the HD is probably a 20GB drive since the formatted capacity is always slightly smaller than what it says on the box.  If you say you have 51% free space left out of 18.61GB then you have roughly 9.49GB left - plenty of room for a new Norton if that's what you want to stick with.  Beside, the old version should automatically be detected and removed by Norton when the install begins, saving even more space.

You don't want to try out any of the free AV programs? Free doesn't mean it doesn't work as well as something you buy off the shelf.  Avast recently won the SC magazine People's Choice Award for the best AV program in the US, including Norton and McAfee.
