Vista, Bluetooth, Motorola Q, Inspiron 9400 sync issue

 Ok, first the basics;

 - Clean install of Vista Business Edition
 - Dell truemobil 355 Bluetooth + EDR using Vista drivers obtained from Dell site
 - All available updates and patches from MS and Dell
 - Motorola Q is the black "Verizon Wireless" edition with all current software verified by Verizon and Motorola
 Tested using MS Office XP and 2007 Enterprise Edition

 Here's the problem: The Q will sync using the new Vista Mobile device Center using USB. I can get the Q to connect and establish a partnership with the Dell laptop under XP and Vista but I cannot get it to syncronize after following all the various instructions obtained from Microsoft, Verizon and Motorola. The specific error message is "The service you are requesting is not supported" All the available documentation from Microsoft, Verizon and Motorola indicates that the Q does in fact support Bluetooth syncronization with XP and Vista. There are only two logical conclusions. The first being that I am suffering from user error. The second being that the Dell drivers don't support this feature. I have reason to believe that I am in fact doing this right. So I should first assume that the drivers are not up to snuff.

 Question: Is there a known problem with the Motorola Q and Dell broadcom 355 Bluetooth implementation?
 If so, are there new drivers pending release?
 If not, can a knowledgeble Dell rep please direct me to the proper channel to help me get the problem resolved.

 For referrence, I have been able to make this work using an external USB Bluetooth adapter borrowed from one of my lab machines. But this begs the question of why should I have to buy an external adapter when the builtin one should work just fine?
