Vista not recognizing added memory

Today I upgraded to Vista Ultimate (32-bit).  No problems with the upgrade process itself.  Lots of new drivers loaded. Got the RAID 0 set up without a problem, etc.  Now here's the issue...I added additional RAM to my system to bring the total RAM to 4 GB (my original system configuration was 2 Gb RAM).  In the BIOS it notes the total RAM to be 4 GB, but in Vista it says that my system has only 2 Gb installed.  What could be the problem?  I note that Vista Ultimate (32-bit) would support 4 Gb RAM.  Any idea what the problem could be?

Here's my system:

Dell XPS 600
Pentium D 3.20 GHz processor
RAID 0 (2 X 250 Gb HDD)
secondary 250 Gb HDD
4 Gb RAM (4 X 1 GB DDR2 667Hz)
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 256Mb
BIOS A11

Well, you answered one of my questions. This is a known problem with the XPS 600 - has been for the last year with XP. I have 4 Gigs in my system and the Dell only sees 2 gigs.

There are at least a half dozen threads on the topic. Here's one of my original:

And here's another MUCH LONGER thread (of the many) on the same topic:

This is not a resolvable problem in XP. It's a problem with the nVidia system drivers and Windows. I had hoped Vista would solve it. You just showed it won't.
