What is a Base System Device
I have 3 devices under device manager that have a yellow exclamation point called Base System Device. Does anyone know what this means? I need to update the drivers.
I'm using a Vostros laptop 1400, with winxp pro

Make sure you install all of the drivers for the system. The full list, and the order they should be installed in are:
- Dell™ Notebook System Software
- Intel® Mobile Chipset Driver
- Mobile Intel® GMA X3100 Video Controller
- Ricoh® Media Card Reader Driver
- Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip (Intel Turbo Memory)

- Wireless driver (if applicable)
- IDT® STAC 9205 Audio Driver
- MDC driver
- Dell Touch Pad Driver
- Bluetooth® driver and stack

Did you happen to reinstall your OS?
If you did, that means that you did not download the chipset drivers and install them.
